I first got involved in Olympic Weightlifting at the age of 14 during a taster session at my Secondary School. Ever since then I’ve been training regularly and competing in a range of Regional and National Competitions.
I my early years of competing I represented my Secondary School (Cardinal Pole) at various School games and my local Borough (Hackney) at the London Youth Games wining back to back Championships in 2010 and 2011.
Throughout my Weightlifting career I’ve competed in various National competitions such as The British Schools, British U23s Championships, English Championships and British Colleges and Universities Championship. I took a break in 2017 due to injury and in early 2018 I resumed my training competing in my first International Competition in Barbados, from this I’ve returned to competing in National competitions and working on achieving my goal of competing and Senior International Weightlifting Competitions.
How much do you train?
I currently train 7 days a week, sometimes doing double sessions when I have the opportunity. 1x a week I train at Bethnal Green Weightlifting and every other week I train at Hackney Weightlifting club. But most of the time I train in my garage which I’ve turned into a home gym.
What is your best result?
My current best result is 4th in 2019 Colleges & Universities competition after a year out and only a few months training. 2nd in 2019 London & Southeast open which was my second competition back competing. I'm currently ranked 13th across the UK, with aim to improve on this by the end of the year.
