Bio

I started karate in 2008. I always maintain a positive attitude and strong spirit when it comes to karate. I was awarded my 1st Dan black belt in 2016 by Shihan Koos Burger of SASKA (South African Shotokan Karate Academy). I train 6/7 days a week. My goal is not to win all competitions that I attend but it is to ensure that I keep up a good standard of karate that will always reflect on me as an individual and to my club. When I was still growing up I used to wish to be an actor where I would showcase my skill in filmed videos. In my years of practising karate I have entered too many championships both local and national championship and international championships where I have placed in the top 3 in all recent championships. I am 2018 WUKF world championships bronze medalist. The final team was announced after the 2017 SASKA National Championships, where I was awarded 3 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals and 1 bronze medal; and I was also awarded a trophy for the SASKA Best Male Karateka. My goal is to make it to Olympics level. This might happen soon in 2020 as long as I put in the hard work as I have started to double my training times to at least 2 times a day. I have been getting so much positive feedback from my karate teachers and mentors as well as other instructors. My dream is to travel to Japan and train with some of the best karate masters because my aim for is not to focus much on sports karate but more on traditional karate.
